160621-174016This past weekend brothers Stephen and Joey Lamar made the long trip from Virginia to Deep South Texas to hunt hogs and bay fish at South Padre Island. The Lamar brothers lost their older brother Donald in Afghanistan, May 2010. Sgt. Lamar was known as being a great husband, son and brother and exemplified the core values of the Marie Corps. The brothers were provided this opportunity to come down and hunt and fish in memory of their brother thanks to the Kniestedt Foundation and the donors that allow us to put these events on.

The brothers started their trip out with a standard South Texas BBQ and a night of camaraderie in the famous Gravick Ranch Trophy room. The following morning the brothers headed to the beach to do some bay fishing and had great success catching trout, skipjack and a red fish. After a successful fishing trip the brothers made it back to Gravick Ranch and got prepped for some hog hunting! After sitting in the South Texas sun both Stephen and Joey cashed in and shot a hog! The Gravick team was really impressed by their shooting abilities knocking both hogs down right where they were standing. True Riflemen!

160621-174021The success only continued for Stephen and Joey Lamar with success in the five stand and more hog hunting. The last night the brothers were at the ranch they got the opportunity to use the FLIR thermal optics. Stephen and Joey Lamar got the opportunity to Live Large in memory of their brother thanks to the generous donations of our sponsors.
