After serving in Iraq with the military, veteran Stacy Bare came back to the states to find himself caught up in the all too familiar struggles; alcoholism, depression, suicidal tendencies, you name it. All that changed, however, when a fellow veteran saw that he was in need, reached out to him, and took him climbing for the first time.

Since then, Stacy has become not only an avid outdoorsman, he also co-founded Veterans Expeditions, a chartered 501(c)(3) non-profit which offers resources and outdoor adventures for veterans in need, and is now the Director of Sierra Club Outdoors. Not to mention Stacy was also named the National Geographic Adventurer of the Year in 2014.
